Dossier: HABIT

HABIT, one of the “antagonistic” forces in EverymanHYBRID, continues to elude our studies. Like The Slender Man, we have virtually no information on HABIT’s backstory, other than whatever information he is willing to give up in his twitter account. Even then, that information should be taken with a pinch of salt; considering how he can manipulate the people around him, those tweets may as well just be more false information. They do match his propensity for violence, however, considering how he makes reference to notorious murderers ranging from Josef Mengele to Albert Fish to Vlad III the Impaler.
Videos that he has posted or taken part in demonstrate several of his abilities, most notably the ability to possess an individual and deprive them of all bodily control, nicknamed “inHABITation”. What separates inHABITation from normal possession are two details: the first detail being that whoever HABIT possesses in fully aware of what is happening, yet completely incapable of stopping it. The second detail is that whoever is inHABITed gains increased strength, stamina and the ability to immediately recover from wounds, possibly even from fatal ones. Combined with his sadistic tendencies, the end result for anyone confronting an inHABITed individual usually results in lethal consequences. However, this ability does have a caveat: HABIT cannot manifest and perform actions without inHABITation and thus requires a host to possess. Adding to this limitation is a fault on HABIT’s own part, in which HABIT prefers to hand pick his hosts, or at least mold them into his liking. This fact alone means that while HABIT may not be able to manifest as often as he wishes, his rare presences always creates devastation to anyone caught in his path.
What makes matters worse is that HABIT isn’t technically alone; earlier in the documentation of EverymanHYBRID, a feral entity labeled “The Rake” was noted as another opposing force against the main “protagonist” subjects. The Rake, a humanoid quadruped possessing excellent physical capabilities but limited intelligent capacity, was recently apprehended by HABIT and forced into his service. Specifically how The Rake came into working for HABIT is unknown, but does show what HABIT is capable of regardless.  Furthermore, looking into the Youtube channel “TribeTwelve”, HABIT has come into contact with a group of anomalous beings known only as “The Collective”, specifically a member working under the moniker of “Firebrand.” Upon further reviewing of the channel, it was revealed that Firebrand’s true identity to be Noah Maxwell, creator of the TribeTwelve channel and known adversary of The Collective. What this exactly means in terms of the collaboration between these two individuals is not entirely known at the time, but considering The Collective’s loose connection to The Slender Man, this does not bode well.

In conclusion, HABIT not only has access to resources that are beyond natural human comprehension, but has the ability to utilize them to his whim with vicious alacrity. He presents a lack of empathy in terms of whoever he comes across and will gladly exploit them, whether they belong to any particular scheme of HABIT’s or not. Staying clear of this individual should be a top safety concern, even if further research of this figure would be to our benefit.
